The Bulletin was late Thursday. Some body without permission borrowed our melting pot and we spent a lot of time inquiring in the neigh borhood before we found it. We had to melt metal to make the picture for that “diamond” ring in Slack’s advertisement . . . Dr. Lincoln lost his trousers sometime Continued on bach page Pacolet Knitting Co. Dyeing Dept. Is Destroyed by Fire Fire of unknown origin com pletely destroyed the dyeing depart of the Pacolet Knitting Company at Lynn last night. The fire was discovered about 12 midnight by Nightwatchman Ballard, who at once gave an alarm. The blaze had made such headway by the time help arrived that all efforts were futile. The loss consists of the dyeing department, machinery, dyes, cot ton waste, salt, etc. It is not known whether the loss was covered by insurance or not. Miss Bland, Registrar Mjiss Virginia Bland has been appointed registrar of vital statis tics for the Town of Tryon and for Tryon Township. Dr. R. T. Stimpson, State Director of Vital Statistics states that Miss Bland’s work was very satifactory. Her duties require the recording of births and deaths of all people in the township. Dance Tonight The biggest social affair of the week comes off tonight with the dance at Sunnydsle Log Cabin. Tenny Freck orchestra will fur nish the music and the big apple will be an added feature of the occasion.
