ELEANOR ROGERS ANNOUNCES LIST OF ATTENDANTS Plans for the wedding of Miss Eleanor Rogers, daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. George Floyd Rog ers, of 216 Pearson drive, to Car roll Pickens Rogers, Jr., of Tryon, were announced yesterday. The ceremony will be held Saturday evening at 8:30 o’clock at Trinity Episcopal church. The Rev. Mr. Rogers, father of the bride, will officiate assisted by the Rev. E. Reinhold Rogers, uncle of the bride-elect, who is head of the Home for Boys at Covington, Virginia. Miss Rogers has chosen a*s her maid-of-honor, her sister, Miss Louise Rogers. Mrs. Robert R. Williams, Jr., will serve as matron. of-honor in the wedding. Bridesmaids will be: Miss Mar garet Rogers, Mjiss Julia Rogers, both sisters of the bride-elect; Mrs. Baxter Haynes and Miss Hope Rogers of Tryon, sisters of Carroll Rogers; Miss Carol Erskine. Miss Rachel Jackson, both of Tryon, Miss Elizabeth Barron, Miss Jessie Beadles, Miss Dorothy Acee, and Miss Stuart Hensley, of Ashe ville; Miss Alice Tate of Charlotte, and Mrs. John Page Elliott, of Richmond. Va. George Brannon, of Tryon, will serve as Mr. Rogers’ best man. Ushers will be Robert R. Wil liams, Jr., Edwin Fitch, Paul Ring er, Malcolm McDonald of Ashe ville; Sam Bingham, George Holmes, Lawrence Holmes, and Baxter Haynes, all of Tryon, Car. son Ford, of Burnsville; John Erskine and Mack Erskine of Racine, Wis.; Robert Erskine of Wilmington and Sam Smith of Charlotte. Following the wedding ceremony, a reception will take place at the Biltmore Forest Country club. Among the out-of-town guests who have arrived and are arriving for the wedding are: Mr. and Mrs. George Floyd Rogers, Jr., who are at the home of Mr. Rogers’ par ents. Pearson drive, Miss Margaret Zimmer, of Petersburg, Va., who arrived Saturday and is the Grosso F.' Rogers’ home. Mr. and Mrs. John Page Elliott will arrive Thursday from Richmond, Va., and will stay at the Biltmore Forest Country club. Many social courtesies have been extended Miss Rogers since the an nouncement of her engagement. Miss Sudabelle Wall held open house Sunday afternoon at her home, 30 Watauga street in com pliment to Miss Rogers. Mrs. Kingsland Van Winkle, mother of the hostess and Mrs. John Hursey, aunt of the hostess, assisted with serving. Presiding at the tea table during the afternoon were: Miss Joyce Austin. Miss Betty Ann Bevlin, Miss Sara John son and Miss Katherine Pearce. M Members of the wedding will be honored at a buffet supper to be given this evening (Tuesday) by Miss Rachel Jackson, of Tryon. Guests have been invited for 7:30 o’clock and the party will be held at the Tryon home of the hostess. Miss Marjorie Blake of 210 Kim berly avenue, Miss Stuart Hensley of Fairmont road, Grove Park, and Miss Sara Johnson, of “Pine Knoll’, Biltmore Forest, will en tertain with a spinster dinner to be given F'riday evening at 7:30 o’clock at the Asheville Country club. —Asheville Citizen.
