It does seem hard to believe that
the delicious milk from Tryon
dairies could be any better. From
the standpoint of taste and looks
we don’t believe there is any bet
ter, and if the local dairy fur

be “hunky dory”, but sick people
with all kinds of diseases also
buy milk from the dairies or
stores and return the bottles maybe
laden with unfriendly germs. If
the dairy doesn’t have the right
kind of boilers to steam these
little fellows off they cling to the
bottles like little bulldogs until
they take a notion to swim in
your fresh milk and cling to you
awhile with disastrous results —to

Mrs. Emma Johnson
Funeral services for Mrs. Emma
Henderson Johnson, 37, who died
at her home at Clifton yesterday
after a lingering illness, will be
conducted at 4 o’clock this af
ternoon at the Fairview Baptist
church by the Rev. J. Herman
Cobb, the Rev. Mr. Semms and
Miss Annie Jones.
Interment will be in the Fair
view cemetery.
M,rs. Johnson is survived by two
daughters, Mrs. Toy Whitt, Clif
ton, and Miss Bertha Johnson,
Clifton; her father, W. L. Hen
derson; four sisters, Mrs. R. C.
Millwood, Chesnee, Mrs. N. C.
Foster, Mill Spring and Mrs. Mart
Massey and Mrs. R. B. Mlillwood,
both of Clifton; and three broth
ers. W. R. Henderson, Tryon, N.
C.; W. C. Henderson, Cowpens,
and E. W. Henderson of Clifton.
Pallbearers will be Arnold Dix
on, Charles Drewery, Pearson
Robinson, W. W. Lands, Julius
Hill and L. W. Walker.

Reunion Is Held
Tryon, N. C.. Sept. 6 The
Shields-Steadman family reunion
was held at Harmon field near here
Sunday, August 29th.
A picnic lunch was served at 1
o’clock in the afternoon.
The following officers were elect
ed: Mrs. Broadus Flynn of Co
lumbus, president; Mlrs. French
McCraw of Gaffney, S. C., secre
tary; and Mrs. Kenneth Shields
of Hendersonville, historian.
Approximately 75 guests were
