Miss Nancy Cureton, of Atlanta, Ga., is a guest of Mrs. Connally at the Country club tea room. Miss Cureton is a daughter of the late Dr. Cureton, formerly of Tryon. Her mother was Mary Mills, daughter of Gavan Mills, a member of the family that once owned all of this section by a grant from the King of England. Tryon’s 500 miles of trails wi 1 be used more than ever this season. New horses are being added to local stables. Walter H. West recently brought, in two horses from Virginia. Col. and Mrs. Dan Boone have returned from the Young Democrats con tention at Winston-Salem and they -"brought with them not the Demo cratic donkey, but a thoroughbred hunter, “Wrackson” of Vifginia, sired by “Wrack” and foaled by “Rod and Gun”. Continued on back vaae TRYON, M C., WED., SEPT. 15, 1937 Commercial Classes At Tryon Hi School Much interest is being manifest ed in the new course in commer cial subjects being taught in the Tryon high school for the first time this year. Thirty high school pupils have registered for the course. A num ber of others would like to take the course but their schedule of other necessary subjects prevents thier taking the commercial course. We have two classes organized for people who wish to learn type ing, shorthand and bookkeeping who are not in high school. The first class meets from 2:00 to 3:00 o’clock each day. The sec ond class meets on Monday, Wed nesday and Thursday nights from 7:30 to 9:30 o’clock. We have 17 pupils registered in these two classes. We have room to accommodate 10 more people. We would like very much to have each of these classes with the maximum number of pupils in them. If you are interested in i*egis tering for the commercial work please call or write W. A.
