Try on Federal Sav.
And Loan Ass’n.
Issues Statement
I An interesting financial state
ment of the Tryon Federal Sayings
& Loan Association is published
in today’s Bulletin. It shows the
remarkable resources of the local
savings & loan association which
was organized about three years
ago with only a few thousand dol
lars capital paid in. The total
resources in today’s statement
amounts to over a hundred thou
sand dollars, for the first time
since the organization began. The
association has aided many local
citizens to build homes when
money was scarce, and enabled
them to take advantage of low
building and material costs. The
Tryon Federal Savings & Loan
Association is regularly inspected
by government officials. Investors
are insured against loss up to
i $5,000.00 by the Federal govern-
V ment. The rate of interest is
greater than in most savings asso
ciations, and the income derived
from it is tax free the same as
the revenue from government
bonds. The directors of the Tryon
federal Savings & Loan Associa
tion are F. P. Bacon president;
W. S. Green, vice-president; M. R.
McCown. secretary; Julian B.
Hester and John G. Landrum, di
rectors.

“CURB” REPORTER
A stray dog was killed this
morning by the Tryon police.
People who do not believe that a
town ordinance prohibits dogs run
ning loose without a leash are
going to lose their dog. It is
terrible for people to have a dog
that is allowed to run loose. It
gets kicked around, and mistreat
ed in general. Taint fair to the
dog and taint fair to the people
who don’t know the dog. Os
course your dog is all right; he
wouldn’t bother anybody. But the
other fellow doesn’t know that.
