Issues Statement I An interesting financial state ment of the Tryon Federal Sayings & Loan Association is published in today’s Bulletin. It shows the remarkable resources of the local savings & loan association which was organized about three years ago with only a few thousand dol lars capital paid in. The total resources in today’s statement amounts to over a hundred thou sand dollars, for the first time since the organization began. The association has aided many local citizens to build homes when money was scarce, and enabled them to take advantage of low building and material costs. The Tryon Federal Savings & Loan Association is regularly inspected by government officials. Investors are insured against loss up to i $5,000.00 by the Federal govern- V ment. The rate of interest is greater than in most savings asso ciations, and the income derived from it is tax free the same as the revenue from government bonds. The directors of the Tryon federal Savings & Loan Associa tion are F. P. Bacon president; W. S. Green, vice-president; M. R. McCown. secretary; Julian B. Hester and John G. Landrum, di rectors. People who do not believe that a town ordinance prohibits dogs run ning loose without a leash are going to lose their dog. It is terrible for people to have a dog that is allowed to run loose. It gets kicked around, and mistreat ed in general. Taint fair to the dog and taint fair to the people who don’t know the dog. Os course your dog is all right; he wouldn’t bother anybody.
