TRYON, N C„ THURSDAY, OCT. 14, 1937
100 Travel Guests
Here on Wednesday
Approximately 100 travel agen

magazine writers making a 12-day
tour of the state passed through
Polk county Wednesday in two
large buses and several autos. The
tour was halted in Saluda for a

the golf links they passed the
little log hut occupied temporarily
by “big” Sam Petty dressed for
the occasion with powder horn,
rifle and hound dogs. The hut was
decorated with coon skins, stuffed
eagle, horns and other mountain
emblems. To the right a sign I’ead

with gourd dippers was another

“The Road to Mandalay,” “Hell
Hole Swamp”, “Hoot’n’ Owl Hol-
