A Gentle Reminder The Lanier club, which meaps the supporting organization of our Piiblic Library, begins its year’s activities on November 4th, and it is the hope of its executive board that all' Tryonites will “stand by” as usual. No need to rejmind you of what the library means to Try on: it is indispensible. But for the benefit of those who may be newcomers let us explain again our aims and our needs. The Lanier library, owned > and sup ported by the Lanier club, is open to-everyone; provides 8,665 books for the entertainment instruc tion of home folk, tourists, and school children; maintains a read ing room; and offers six interest ing program-meetings a year- In order to keep this splendid insti tution alive in ou* community the club offers memberships in the or ganization ranging from $5 to $25, and it is through the gerierous response to our request for mem bers that most of our yearly budget is met.
