Good Speech Program
At School On Monday
The Sixth grade chapel program
under the direction of Miss Eleazer
will be given on Monday noon,
October 18th, in the Tryon school
auditorium. The students will be
pleased if parents and friends will
come to see and hear the program.
L. A. Alewine will announce. The
program consists of the follow
ing songs: “School Days”, Alice
In Wonderland,” and “I Had Four
Brothers”. Special parts will be
sung by Anne Brundage, Eliza
beth Anne Vining, Frank Wall and
Paul Butler.
The play is entitled “The Magic
of Good Speech.” Those taking
part are: Gelolo Iris Kell, Bill
Mehane, S*ue Lindsey, Ben Cross
white, Ernest Waters, Paul Can
trell, Howard Reid, Marvin Ed
wards, Joyce Edney, Frances Wil
liams and Hazel Durham.
The class will reciate a poem,
“Myself.”
The class is very proud of of
the posters which each of them
made, about a balanced meal. They
each planned a meal, then cut, and
pasted pictures of each food on
the poster. The best ones were
made by Elizabeth Anne Vining,
Bill Mebane, Ann Brundage, Mar
vin Edwards, Margaret Waters,
Nancy Morton, Gelolo Iris Kell.
Tryon Loses
Tryon’s football team lost to
Hendersonville Friday afternoon
at Hendersonville by a score of
14-0. The game was close thru
out. Hendersonville’s reserve
strength wore the local team down,
but the locals put up a good fight.
