Tim McCoy Spends
Week-End In Try on
S Col. Tim McCoy, noted movie
factor, who conducts a wildwest
show with Ringling Bros. Bamum
& Bailey Circus, was the week-end
guest of Mr. and Mrs. Walter C.
Hill at Many Levels. Col. MlcCoy
made the first shot on the Hills’
new skeet course. The Cblontl
was entertained quite a bit while
here and enjoybd the beautiful
mountain scenery. The Hills took
him to Atlanta this morning so
he could meet his engagement with
the circus in that city. Last year
at circus time, the famous cowboy,
and the actor, David Niven were
guests of the Lefty Flynns at
Little Orchard and both spoke to
the children at the school house.

parking spaces on Trade street
Saturday morning just because
the drivers didn’t park between
the lines. A little co-operation

Mrs. J. H. Blanton
Chesnee, Oct. 31.—Mrs. Irena
Evelena Blanton, 84, widow of J.
H. Blanton, died at her home,
Rutherford ton, route 1, today af
ter a lingering illness.
Mrs. Blanton was born May 15,
1853, the daughter of Ml*, and
Mrs. J. H. Henry, of Rutherford
ton county, North Carolina.
Funeral services will be conduct
ed at 2:30 o’clock Monday after
noon at the Green River Baptist
church by the Rev. W. K. Wyatt
and the Rev. T. M. Hester of
Spindale. Interment will be in
the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Clif
ton McMurray, G. Whit Owens,
Floyd Owens, Isham Henderson,
Ronald Cantrell and Darrell Tate.
The deceased is survived by six
daughters and two sons, 32 grand
children and 11 great grand
children. G. Isham Henderson of
Tryon is one of the grandchildren.
Kiwanis Tuesday
The Trvon Kiwanis club will
meet on Tuesday at 1 p. m., at
Hotel Tryon. An interesting pro
gram has been arranged.
Washington, Qct. 31.—Citizens
by the millions in nearly a third
of the states will vote next Tues
day, but the elections, generally
speaking, are expected to be de
void of national significance.
Voters will elect two state
governors and half dozen legisla
tures. They will fill four con
gressional vacancies. They will
change or reaffirm municipal ad-s
ministrations in three! scoi'e cities,
including New York. *
