Mars Hill high school turned'back the Try on -Saluda aggregation here today, 7 to 0, in a Blue Ridge conference engagement. The home team scored 1 the lone touchdown of the contest in the third period. Taking the ball on their own 20-yar ( d line, the Mars Hill gridders drove down to the Tryon-Saluda 25 from where B. Edwards to Carter for the score. Carter ran about 15 yards to crosss the goal line after catch ing the pass. A pass interference ruling enabled Mars Hill to add the extra point. G. Sprinkle, J. TRYON, N. C„ SATURDAY, NOV. 6, 1937 Airplane Flights to Be Given Sunday Dean Shields, local aviator, states that he is bringing a plane to Tryon with an ex perienced pilot, Kenneth Arnette, of Hendersonville, who has several hundred flying hours to his credit. This is the first flying to be done at the Tryon airport, and a large crowd is expected. There will be an air exhibition staged at 3 p. m. For those who are not familiar, with the location of the Tryon air port, it is one and one half miles East of Tryon in Scrivens bottoms. Mrs. Walt Glover Died This, Morning Mrs. Walt Glover, 21, nee Isabel Durham, passed away this morn ing about 1:30 o’clock following a lingering illness. Funeral ser vices will be held Sunday after noon at 3 d’clock at the First Bap tist church with Dr. E. E. Bomar officiating, assisted by Rev. Mal colm Ross. The Tryon Fire deuart. ment, of which her husband is a member, will serve as pallbearers as follows: Clanny Ward, Dr. B. B. Bishop, Jr., Marshall Balew, W. W. Creasman, J. S. Arledge, Jack Ford. The -5 survived by her husband, and one son. Michael, age three. Mrs. Durham was educated in the Tryon high school and was prominent in young peo ple’s activities.
