C„ TUESDAY, NOV. 23, 1937 Tryon-Saluda Plays Brevard Wednesday „The Tryon-Saluda gridders will entertain Brevard high school in their final game of the season, with the kick-off commencing at three-thirty on Harmon Field. This game will be the last one of the season for both teams and each one will be trying to ring up a victory. The visitors are bringing a fast and scrappy team of Blue Devils here to furnish the opposition for the locals. In the game with Hendersonville last Friday they scored in the first auarter with four thrusts. In Shuford, Brevard boast a fleet back that will bear watching. In spite of the fact that Robert Green will be out of the Trvon- Saluda line-up. the game will be ia toss-up. With three of the fastest backs in the Blue Ridge Conference in McGeachy. Jones and Eaton, plenty of speed can be turned on against Brevard. In Staton, who has only been with the team for the past three games, Tryon-Saluda has a line plunger, a great defensive back and one of the passers to be found anywhere. The line is ably boosted up by two big tackles, Homer Shields and Mutt Heather, ly, who can hold their own against any team. The guards led by Parker, Edney and Fox, and the center, B’ll Swann, will take care of any thing that comes their way. The men on the flanks, Holbert, Foster, Jacobs and the Beatson brothers are in good condition for the game. Taylor, Vining. M. Green, and the other men on the squad will be set for play.
