Today’s News John Spurlin, truck driver for Tryon Builders Supply, is uncon scious in St. Luke’s hospital as the result of a collision of his truck with a Ford V-8 occupied by Baty Hall. Saluda Town treasurer, D. R. Fisher, SRY telegraph, opera tor and Ernest Thompson, who were taken to Hendersonville hos pital. Hall severely cut in the face, Fisher with broken left leg. Thompson only slightly injured, it is reported. President Roosevelt leaves to night for a fishing trip to Florida and return visit to Warm Springs, Ga. The pi'esident and business leaders are working out a program to end the business slump. The Army is to purchase huge supplies of cotton and furniture goods which will help the south. Much interest has been manifest in the announcement of John A. Arledge of Columbus that he would not be a candidate for re- as Clerk Superior Court of Polk county next June.
