C.. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John G. Landrum, was sent to the Bulletin by Coker college officials. Miss Landrum, wh 0 is a sister of John G. Landrum, Jr., of the Tryon Bank & Trust company, is a Senior at Coker college, Harsville, S. C., where she is president of Coker College Student Body, and has been selected by the faculty as the most outstanding student for Who’s Who’s of college stu dents. Besides being an excellent student Miss Landrum is endowed with a charming personality. TRYON, N. C., FRIDAY, DEC. 10, 1937 Clothing Wanted Gifts of warm clothing for dis tribution by the Red Cross to needy families are urgently requested by Mrs. George Cathey, Chairman of the Home Service Committee. Many families are suffering from cold and children’s coats and sweaters in the smaller sizes, if provided, will prevent much dis tress and possible sickness. All garments should be left at the Blue Ridge Weavers. If it is impos sible to deliver them at the store, calls will be made for them on request. C. Arthur Lincoln, Chairman Polk County Chapter . Miss Mary Moore Miss Mary Moore, age 75, die 1 Thursday afternoon at 1 o’clock at her home in the Pea Ridge section of Polk county after an illness of sometime. Funeral ser vices will be held Saturday after noon at the home with interment in the family cemetery. The Rev. Mr. Lucas will officiate. She was a member of a prominent Polk county family and is survived by two sisters, Mrs. J. M. Brian and Miss Winnie Moore of Pea Ridge, and many nieces ,and nephews, among them being Jim Moore, of the Ballenger company in Tryon. Warmer weather for this sec tion is promised for Saturday. Pennsylvania had an 18-inch snow yesterday. Snowplows dyg thru seven-foot drifts in upstate New York. Florida fruit growers keep ing smudge pot fires going to save fruit crop.
