C. t WEDNESDAY, DEC, 15, 1937 Students Coming Home from Schools (Since it is almost impossible to publish an accurate list of all ithe college students coming to Tryon for the holidays, please notify the Bulletin the day or the day before students arrive sp that friends making up parties may not overlook them. There are over 50 Tryon students away at college). Alfred Huger, Jr., has arrived home from Hobart college for the holidays with his parents, Maj. and M<rs. Alfred Huger. David Howell of Asheville School is home four days earlier for good scholarship, and is spending the holidays with his parents, Mr. and MTs. William Howell, “Around the Corner” on Godshaw Hill. Mlars Hill college reports that Miss Margie Bclinger of Tryon will leave there December 17 for the holidays with her parents, Mr. .and Mrs. Lloyd Bolinger. / Edward Sayre has returned home from North Carolina State college at Raleigh for the holi days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. N. Sayre. A number of students are com ing in this week. Please notify the Bulletin. District President Julian B. Hester, executive vice president of the Tryon Bank & Trust Co., was elected president of Group Ten of the North Caro lina State Bankers Association at 1 their meeting in Asheville Satur day. Tryon High Wins Over Sunny View The Tryon high school took both ends of a double-header Tuesday night by downing the Sunny View high boys and girls. The girls game was close and exciting thru out with the Tryon girls pulling ahead in the last quarter to win 19 to 14. j The Tryon boys rang up their second victory of the season by downing the visitors 28 to 13. Coach McKinney brought one of the best boys teams here that Sunny View has had and they put up a good fight. His team is greatly handicapped by the lack of a gymnasium. The Tryon boys used practically the entire squad. Lineup for boys: Tryon—(2B): Jones (12); Beat son, D. (4); Beatson, A. (6) ; Parker (4); Chapman (0). Sunny View—(l3): Roxx (3); Powell (3); Smith (5) ; Gilbert (2); Roxx, C. (0). Substitutions: Tryon, McFar land (2) ; Vining, Taylor, Ford, and Jackson. Sunny View: Tess neer, Wilson. Referees: Eargle and Buchanan. At Rotary The Tryon .Rotary club will meet on Friday at 1 p. m.. at Oak Hall hotel with James B. Hester in charge of the program. The guest speaker will be Prof. James Brooks of Landrum. Last Friday Lee Shelnutt charge of the pro gram and the guest speaker was the Rev. Roll a Dyer, who gave an interesting historical outline'from a Biblical point.
