Beatson Health House An interesting Christmas Tree program is being arranged for the Katharine Beatson Health House to held on Wednesday, December at 2 p. m., at the Katherine Beatson Health House under the direction of Mfiss Irene Clark, the county nurse, assisted by Miss Agnes McLeod, home demonstra tion pgent. Tonight The annual Oak Hall-Pine Crest Inn dance will be held at Oak Hall hotel. It is a benefit affair for the Helping Hand and everybody in the community is invited. Admis sion $1 couple. A1 Dunn’s orches tra furnishing the music. Christmas tree program of the First Baptist Sunday school will be held at 7:30 tonight. Public, invited. Tryon Town bovs and girls teams will go to Colum- to play the Columbus teams tonight at 7:30. Caution ! In the interest of public safety the Fire department wishes to issue its usual holiday don’ts: Don’t take for granted your tree wiring is safe. Be sure that it is. Don’t erect tree near fireplaces. Don’t use candles on tree. Don’t leave tree up too long af ter Christmas. It dries out and is highly inflammable. Don’t burn package wrappings except in stove or other closed apparatus. TRYON, NC., WEDNESDAY, DEC. 22, 1937 Toys And Story Were Kiwanis Features Tuesday The Tryon Kiwanis club held its annual Christmas Toy presen tation on Tuesday at 1 p. m., at Hotel Tryon. Each Kiwanian gave another a toy which will later be given to less fortunate children. Much merriment was enjoyed in presenting the gifts. A feature of the program was the telling of an interesting and impressive Christ mas story. $65 has been raised among the members to send Christ mas cheer baskets of food, fruit, candy, etc., to needy families on Christmas Eve. Mrs. McGuinn, Sunny View, Died On Tuesday Night Mrs. L. B. MicGuinn, 70, widow of the late L. B. MicGuinn, of Sunny View community, died Tuesday night. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 1 o’clock at Cane Creek Baptist church with the Rev. Mir. Allman, officiating. The deceased is sur vived by one son, J. M. McGuinn, of Mill Spring, and four daugh ters, Mrs. Sue Byers of Sunny View, MVs. Myrtle Tony, Mrs. Han nah Stepp and Mrs. Pearl Hoff man, all of Hendersonville. Mrs. McGuinn made her home in Tryon for a number of years and was beloved by all who knew her. Theatre Opens Tomorrow The remodeling otf Ti*yon’s Theatre will be completed tomor row. The theatre will definitely ooen on Friday with “The Fire fly”, starring Jeanette McDonald and Alan Jones for a three day run. There will be no advance in admission prices.
