Indians: James Camp, the chief; Ruth Fortune, a brave; Nancy Morton, a squaw; Howard Reid, the medicine man. King and Queen: Frank Wall, King Ferdinand; Elizabeth Anne Vining, Queen Isabella. The Followers of Columbus: Margaret Waters, Katherine Mc (TKaig. ft Notice — “Second Notice, of my wife Han nah is hereby given forbidding all persons whatever, from harboring or keeping her, and from trust ing her on my account, as I am determined to pay no debts of her contracting. Saugertiesi (Kingston precinct, Nov. 18. 1799.” The above notice is one of the many inter esting advertisements appearing in the Ulster County Gazette of Kingston, N. Y., on January 4, 1800. Franklin Little of Tryon has a copy of this unique paper which was given to him by his father 12 years ago. Scouters The men in the Boy Scouts of America are real Scouts and, like the boys who take the oath, “On My Honor I Will Do My Best . . ” they give money, time and service to pushing forward a wonderful organization that builds charac ter in future American citizens. On Friday, one of these men, Scout Executive Charles Lea, of the Pal metto Council, comes up from Spartanburg to talk to the Rotary club on Scouting. From Atlanta to Hendersonville comes Dr. H. L. Turner, prominent Presbyterian minister and member of the Atlan ta Council, to speak tonight at a big Boy Scout rally. Tryon, too, has a number of outstanding men who have given years of service to the Scout movement. ft Green Creek Girls Tie With Columbus Columbus, Feb. 9. —Green Creek boys’ cage team smothered Colum bus here Tuesday night, 38 to 14, and the girls’ team battled to a 25-25 tie. Williams scored 19 points for the Columbus girls and Cudd racked up 16 markers for the visitors. Girls’ line-up: Columbus —Wil- liams, f 19; Ormand, f, 2; Coch ran. f, 4; Hines, g, McCdrry, g, Williams, g. Green *Creek—Swain, f, 2; Cudd, f, 16; Barnette, f, 4; Horne, g, Jackson, g. Jones, g.
