She still gets the Tryon Daily Bulletin although Clare, the daughter, is no longer in Tryon, much to our regret for Elizabeth Anne Vining was taking art lessons from her at the Tryon Craft School. There’s something beneficial in contacts with talented peoole if you have a desire. Dris coll, Odd’s editor for the past 12 years, will succeed him as writer of “New York Day by Day” . . . . Chief Kiser found a pocketbook and driver’s license Saturday night .... Have you seen the Rowell paintings at Sunnydale? .... Spring is really here. Miss Sawver and Mrs. Ashworth have •14 different varieties of flowers in \loom at their cottage in the val ley . . . Allen Hines bid in Miss Savage’s property the other day. It will be his unless somebody raises the bid within the 20 days . . . Prof. James Brooks says we can make our sub-conscious mind work for us. We can start early in the morning telling it that we are going to be happy, in good health and successful. It is surprising how much will be ac complished. Try it! ... . C., MONDAY, FEB. 21, 1938 Court of Honor The Polk County Boy Scout Court of Honor will be held to night beginning at 7:30 at the Parish House. The Chairman, Dr. C. Arthur Lincoln will preside, as sisted by Scout Executive R. Mw Schiele. Following the Court Mr. Schiele will show a short movie program on Cubbing, an organiza tion for younger boys under Stout ,age. All parents of boys nine, ten. and eleven years old should attend this meeting. The public is invited. Cubs! Cubs!! What institution or group of in dividuals would like to organize a Cub Pack? Cubbing is a leisure time program of activities asso ciating boys with adults in doing things for others. It is great re creation for the adult and an op portunity for the boy to learn how. to develop body, brain and spirit and add to his happiness by “do ing his best.” Cubbing develops character. If you would learn something about Cubbing. Come to the Boy Scout Court of Honor to night at the Parish House and see the movies of the program. ft Kiwanis Tuesday County Agent J. A.
