C., TUESDAY, FEB. 22, 1938 “CELESTIAL CITY” AT PARISH HOUSE The Tryon Parent-Teacher Asso ciation will present a local colored ! religious program, “The Celestial j City” at the Parish House on Thursday evening at 8 o’clock. The cast will consist of members of the 'St. Luke’s C. M. E. church and the proceeds will be divided be i tween the P.T. A. and the colored 1 Methodist church. DR. EDS ALL ADDRESSES TRYON P.T. A. Dr. David L. Fdsall spoke to the Parent-Teacher Association on the “Principles of Dietetics” at the February meeting at the Tryon school auditorium on Mon | day* afternoon. Dr. Edsall’s talk | was very interesting and education al to the visitors as well as to the mothers. During the business session re ports of the various committees were given. The membership re ported 19 new members. The pro gram chairman announced that Converse college glee club will give a concert at the March meeting. The Grounds committee reported that the school grounds and banks might be done through the WPA project. Mr. Schiiletter announc ed plans for a manual training dept, to be put in the Tryon school. Through the heln of the Tryon > citizens, the P.-T. A. and members | of the school board, a home eco | nomics department has been put in | the Tryon school and the past year a commercial department. Following the lecture tea was served in the cafeteria by the hos tesses: Mrs. C. M. Eargle, Mrs. Fred E. SHvann, Mrs. James Baker, md Mrs. S. T. Wood.
