Avant of Tryon and a group of other men made the second highest catch of king fish on last Thursday in the Gulf of Mexico. There were eleven boats out and Mr. Avant’s boat caught 154 kings weighing 750 pounds and also a ten pound grouper • ■ • The Arr thur W. Brintnalls received clip oings last week of mystery shocks in Michigan and of floods in Cali fornia, so they say they are glad they live in Tryon . . . Mrs. J. W. Mr. Carpenter hunts his own hounds in Virginia and has judged hunters in shows and Hunter Trials. We are very fortunate in having him. Incident ally he was the owner of that great hunter horse Troublemaker, whom he sold to Mirs. Randolph Ccott, and who was the outstand ing timber horse «dn America. He was killed about two years ago.
