Est. 1-31-28 John M(oore caught a large bass yesterday in Lake Adger. It weighed 8% pounds . . . Real Es tate has been very active lately. Carter Brown has purchased the old LeMorte place in the Hunting country. K. A. Bowen has bought the Blackely house on Godshaw Hill, now occupied by the Mel bourne Smiths. Larry Brooks has purchased the N. B. Jackson home place on Lake Lanier. H. L. Shel nutt has bought the old Tryon Theatre bidding which was dam aged by fire. Announcement later. D. A. Shields has sold his home place to some High Point people who are going to build a silk hos i iery mill there. Mr. Shields is al- W ready moving his house to his land Rnearby. H. P. Corwith sold two of his houses in Saluda last week and is offering two more in today’s bulletin. J. H. Perkins of New York has the foundation and frame work about completed on his new home in the Hunting country. Building and moving is in the air. Fred Swann ‘is moving this week back to his country home at Lynn. Hotel Tryon has been turning peo ple away and plans to open up an other story as soon as there is a rlack in the number of guests. Dr. Fuldner reports increased use of the Country club tea and supper service. Sunnydale is fast becom ing popular all over tliis section. Senators kill plan to increase income taxes.
