Est. 1-31-28 Ford —Mathis A wedding l of interest was that of Miss Frances Ford of Tryon and Raymond Mathis of Inman, \ which took place Saturday, April Mi. Mic Craw in Inman with Mr. McCraw officiating. Only relatives and a few close friends were present. Mrs. Mathis is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Broadus Ford and a graduate of the Tryon high school. Mr. Miathis is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Mathis of Inman and a graduate of the Gramling high school. Hie also attended the Textile Institute of Spartanburg and is now connect ed with the Liberty Life Insur ance Company.. After a short wedding trip the young couple will make their home in Inman. TUESDAY, APRIL 19, 1938 Court of Honor Well Attended The Polk County Boy Scout Court of Honor held at the Parish House on Monday evening opened with prayer by the Rev. M. A. Lewis of Saluda followed by the Boy Scout Oath. Dr. C. Arthur Lincoln, chairman, presided, as sisted by Scout Executive R. M. Sthiele and the following court: Scoutmaster Zeno Greene of Sa luda G. Isham Henderson, Rev. D. M. McGeachy, pastor Colum bus Presbyterian church, Rev. M. A. Lewis, pastor Saluda Metho dist church, Scoutmaster W. A. Schilletter of Tryon. K. A. Bowen. Council Vice - President Nelson Jackson, Jr., R. H. Brady, Rev. John A. Pinckney, rector of the Church of the Holy Cross. Mrs. Schiele acted as secretary. Executive R. M. Schiele an nounced that a Cub meeting would be held on Saturday April, 23. at 7:30 at the Tryon School. All parents of boys 9 to 11 are in vited to attend. Eagle Scout Bob little was recognized and the following Scouts appeared before the Court for advancement: Tenderfoot Rank —Jimmy* Ed ney. Troop 1; Chas. Oscar Owens troop 1. S'econd Class Rank —H. C.
