Holy Mass Sunday morning at 8 o’clock. Father Florian, Celebrant Julian Hester Heads Rotary Club Julian B. Hester executive vice president of the Tryon Bank and Trust Company, was elected presi dent of the Tryon Rotary club on Friday at Stonnydale Log Cabin. Mr. Hester is a charter member and was the first secretary of the local club when it was organized in 1927. Two years ago he was vice-president. Mr. Hester is also chairman of the Tenth District of the State Bankers Association, treasurer of the Young Mon’s Association and a director of the Federal Savings & Loan Associa tion. The other officers of the Tryon Rotary club are E. Perry Manville, vice-president; John G. Landrum, secretary - treasurer; and directors, past president, J. T. Arledge, Russell Walcott, W. C. Ward, Dudley C. Smith. The new officers will be installed in July. Democrats Meet a Right after lunch and just be fore the baseball game, the Demo crats of Tryon precinct will meet at the old Town Hall to elect precinct officers and delegates to the county convention. The pres ent precinct officers are B. L. Ballenger, chairman; Mrs. F. P. Bacon, vice - chairman; W. W. Creasman. G. Harrison Bridgeman and Seth M. Vining. Baseball Today The local team meets Hazelwood at Hannon Field this afternoon in the first home game of the sea son. With teams well matched, this opener should give fans a real treat.
