William Hines, a native of Polk county, and now business manager of the Y. M. C. A. at Shanghai, China, will be the guest speaker at the Tryon Rotary club on Fri day at 1 p. m., at Sunnydale Log Cabin. Dudley Smith has charge of the program. Mr. Hines, who was the guest of M. R. McCown a few days ago, just recently ar rived in this country from China to spend his vacation until Sep tember. He is now visiting his brother, former U. S. District At- * torney Joseph E. Hines, in Spar tanburg. Just what phase of the Chinese situation Mr. Hines will talk on is not known but anyone interested in hearing him should make reservations through Rotary Secretary John Landrum or Mr. and Mrs. Kerhulas at Sunnydale. Lake Lanier Inn Opens Saturday M. A. Richards, owner of Oak Hall hotel and Lanier properties announced today that the Lake Lanier Inn and cottages would open on Saturday for the sum mer season. The inn will be open for those desiring meals and the cottages for roomers. Swimming tickets will als 0 be sold to citizens of the community.
