ENTERED AS SECOND-CLASS MATTER AUGUST 20, 1928, AT THE POST OFFICE AT TRYON, N. C., UNDER THE ACT OF CONGRESS, MARCH 3, 1879 W(\t bulletin (The World’s Smallest Daily Newspaper) Vol. 11. Est. 1-31-28 Rooster Swapping Important Event Horse trading has been going for ages, but as far as it is Scnown locally Rooster Swapping *on a big scale was first conducted in Polk county on Tuesday when County Agent J. A. Wilson and T. N. Wilcox, who has made a state wide name for himself by raising purebred egg producing chickens, went over the county to nine dif ferent sections swapping purebred Barred Rock cockerels for fryers and common roosters without any pedigree. The fryers and roosters traded in were sold to Hotel Tryon and Jackson’s store where they will eventually go into chicken dinners. Mluch enthusiasm was shown by the farmers who bought 25 high bred birds to head flocks on 20 different farms. It is es timated that if one of these cockerels sires 25 daughters which Mil lay even two dozen eggs more than the daughters of the average •cockerel that would mean the had increased the eggs "on that farm to 50 dozen. If all the 25 cockerels do as well that would mean 1250 dozen extra eggs in the county on these 20 farms and at 25c per dozen would be an increase of over S3OO. Many farm ers are interested in haying Roos ter Swapping Days twice each year, once in the spring and once in the fall. Wesley Brotherhood Wesley Brotherhood will hold its regular meeting with a picnic supper on Thursday night at 7 at Harmon Field. All ladies in vited.
