Est. 1-31-28 Golf Tournament Uth of July Week-end ■ Eighteen hole qualifying round *may be played either Friday or Saturday. Four players will qual ify in each flight. First round Match play, 18 holes, will be played on Sunday. Win ners of the first round match will play their final matches on Mon day. Also the losers of theirs on Monday for the “Beaten Two’s" prize in each flight. There will •be prizes for each flight and it is hoped a large number of players will come out. An entry fee of 50c will be charged and this will go into the prize fund. The tour nament Committee will provide an amount equal to the amount collected for entry fees which will also go into the prize fund. Stores Close For 4th A check up with most of the stores and business houses this morning indicates that Try on will observe the Fourth of July Holi day on M’onday as in the past, and thus give many workers a two day vacation counting Sunday making it possible to go on trips and really enjoy the event. Ernest Kerhulas hopes to have a dance at S*unnydale. President Douglas S. Blois of the Tryon Baseball club may arrange a baseball game for Monday. The Country Club has its annual Fourth of July golf tourn ament on and there will be picnics and Ashing trips here and there. But groceries for Sunday and for Monday will .have to be bought by Saturday night. TRYON, N, C., WED. Athletic Day For Boys Club On Thursday morning at lOiOO o’clock the Boys Club will go to Harmon Field for their second athletic day of the season. From 10:00 to 12:00 o’clock there will be two group baseball games. The winning teams receiv ing five points each to count on their group record.
