C., was here yesterday opening the Columbus Beauty Shop at the County Seat in the former office library building next to the Mer cantile building. The Columbus shop makes ten of a chain of beauty shops operated by Mrs. Munday, who also owns four beauty shcools, the oldest in the state being at Franklin and the largest in North Carolina being at High Point. Her other schools are located at Gastonia and John son City, Tenn. The Columbus Beauty Shop will be operated by Miss Lucile Cuddy of Virginia, who is a graduate of the Franklin school. t THAXTER —GIGNOUX A wedding of interest was that of Edward E. Gignoux, son of Col and Mrs. Frederick E. Gig noux to Miss Hildegarde Schuyler Thaxter, daughter Supreme Court Justice and Mrs. Sidney St. Felix Thaxter of Portland, Me., on Thursday, June 30th at St. Luke’s Cathedral. The bride and groom will make their home for two years at Cambridge, Mass., while the groom finishes his law course at Harvard. Mrs. Gignoux, the groom’s mother, spent last winter in Tryon at Pine Crest Inn. The family has been associated with ’i'ryon for many years.
