Boys’ Finals Friday
M*ajor W. A. Schilletter an
nounces that final exercises “com
mencement” of the Tryon Boys’
club will be held on Friday morn
ing at 10 o’clock at the school
auditorium at which time awards
will be given for outstanding boys
and to the winning group making
the most points. The handicraft
work done by the boys will be on
display including the boat which
has just been completed and is
ready for the water. A large
number of boys started this morn
ing on baskets which they hope to
have completed by Friday. Two
teams have been selected for an
exhibition of volley ball. The pub
lic is cordially invited to attend
the program and see the good work
the boys have been doing.
The Price Is 15c
The price of admission for chil
dren at the Oxford Orphanage
concert tonight at the school audi
torium is 15c instead of the price
advertised yesterday. Admission
for adults is 25c.

Here Tonight
The Oxford Orphanage Singing
Class arrived in Tryon today for
their annual concert at the Tryon
school auditorium. Songs, drills
dances and acting feature the pro
gram which is under the direction!
of Mrs. Sadie T. Hutchinson. Tim
admission is 15 and 25c and is oraj
of the ways of earning money to
help defray the expenses of this
wonderful institution which since
1872 has benefitted over 6,000
c hildren who are now in all parts
of the world making use of the
opportunities given them at the
Orphanage. A large crowd is ex
pected for the performance tonight
as over 50 family tickets have
already been sold. Time 8 o’clock.

A marriage of interest to their
many friends was that of Miss
Lorraine Lanthier of Duluth,
Minn., and Mr. Fred Lawrence,
son of Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Law
rence of Tryon, which took place
July 16th at Duluth, Minnesota.
Forest City Golfers
Coming Thursday
Larry Brooks, Pro at the Tryon
Country club has been advised that
a team of 12 to 20 players of the
Forest City Country club will
come to Tryon on Thursday to play
local golfers. Pro Brooks asks
all men who can play on the Tryon
team to please notify him as soon
as possible.
