Tryon Boys’ Club
Final Program
The public is cordially invited
to attend the closing exercises of
the Boys’ club on Friday morning
July 29, at 10 a. m. at the school
auditorium.
Two silver cups will be awarded
at this time. The cup for the
most outstanding boy over twelve
years of age given by Mr. J. N.
Jackson, and the cup for the most
•outstanding bov twelve years old
•or younger, given by Dr. George
F. Taylor.
The winners of these cups are
decided by the members of the
Boys’ club in a voting contest.
Announcement of the winning
group receiving the greatest num
ber of' points in the various acti
vities of the club will also be
given on Friday.
The boys have done excellent
work in all forms of handicraft,
such as weaving, airplane model
ing, basketry, wood turning, cab
inet work, linoleum cutting, pot
tery, soap carving, etc. They
Yvill display their work at the exer
cises on Friday.
A volley ball game will be play
ed between a picked group from
the club.
A short program will be given
in the auditorium as follows:

Secretary Isham Henderson of the
Civil Service, Tryon, P. 0., has
opening for several home econo
mist jobs paying around $2,000
per year; also one job as Director
of Unemployment Insurance at a
salary of SIO,OOO a year. That’s
