Whence Came I?” I f Hendersonville Closes Largest Horse Show Record crowds attended the finals of Hendersonville’s Third Annual Horse Show yesterday. An estimat ed 2,500 people filled exery avail able vantage point during the rid ing contests and cheered the bril liant show of horsemanship in each of the different classes. Friday afternoon winners includ- Mrs. Sam Bingham, Jr., of Tryon, who topped in the “Gay Nineties Class.” Piney Mountain Sold The Prentice Luckey home on Piney Mountain has been recently sold to Mrs. Caroline H. Hale and daughter, Miss Patricia Hale., They come here from Milwaukee. The sale was made through C. J. ! Lynch. Special Session To | Adjourn Today i ' 7 Members of the special session of the North Carolina General Assembly finished the two remain ! ing steps early today that au thorizes the State of North Caro lina to participate in the PWA Spending Program. Side-stepping action on other bills that would have prolonged the session, both legislative bodies prepared to re turn home from their third official trip to Raleigh in their two-year terms. The State Democratic executive committee met last night in the hall of the house to elect a party chairman and vice-chairman. Representative T. J. McDowell was the on.y member to attend from Polk county. Kiwariis Picnic On Lake Tuesday Instead of the regular 1 o’clock meeting on Tuesday the Kiwanis club will have a picnic op the dock at Lake Lanier Tea House at 6 o’clock. Members are invited to bring friends.
