Larry Brooks. Brooks established the record last year. LEONARD—ANDREWS The following announcement has heen received by friends of the hride and groom: “Mir. and Mrs. Wofford Andrews Foster announce the marriage of Miss Helen June Leonard to Mr. James Brookshire Andrews on Saturday, August the twenty seventh, nineteen hundred and thirty eight, Hendersonville, North Carolina.” The wedding ceremony was held at the Catholic church. Mrs. Ashley, Guest Speaker At Kiwanis Mrs. John Ashley, dean of the Graham Eckes school at Daytona Beach, Florida, will address the Tryon Kiwanis club on Tuesday noon at Hotel Tryon. Mrs. Ash ley has just returned from New England where she had a number of conferences with school officials feeling out the possibilities of bringing to Tryon a fine private school or junior college. On Tues day she will tell of the opportunity Tryon has of getting one of the best dramatic schools in the coun try. A school that is ready to come to Tryon for this winter session. It is a school that would bring to Tryon a faculty of charming, iir f’uential people who will draw to the community distinguished friends and talented pupils from all over the nation. Anyone desiring to hear Mrs. Ashley should notify Seth M. Vining, secretary of the Kiwanis club, not later than* to night if lunch is desired. Those not caring for lunch may drop in at the hotel at 1:30 p. m. Lunch will be served at 1 o’clock. Flag Results The winners of the flag tourna ment held at the Trvon Country club during the weekend are as follows: Class A—Baxter Haynes, first; Earle Rion, second. Class B—E. C. Rowe, first; Amos Fos ter, second. Class C—Seth Vin ing, Jr., first; Claude Helms, sec ong. Class D—Marshall Ballew.
