Est. 1-31-28 EMPLOYEES ADVISED TO kSAFEGUARD SOCIAL SECURITY ACCOUNTS In an effort to insure seasonal or part-time workers against the loss of any benefits which might accrue to their credit, Graham Martin. Manager of the Asheville field office of the Social Security Board, has issued the following suggestions for the guidance of employees: 1. Keep the name and address of each employer for whom you work, as well as the record of your own wage earnings, in every job you hold. 2. Make your account number known to every employer for whom you have worked since the last day of December 1936. What ever wages or salary you may earn in any job, covered by the t Act. after the last day of 1936 and before you reach the age of 65, (or die), should be credited to your social security account. The law requires each employer to report your wages so that vou may get the full amount of benefits due vou. If your employer does not know your number he cannot make a report that will assure a correct record of your wages. 3. You should have only one social security account number. If you lose your account card, ask vour Social Security Board field office for a duplicate. Do not get a new number! If you have more than one number, keep the first one issued you, but send the other cards to the Mlana~er of your Social Security Board field office to be cancelled. C., WEDNESDAY, AUG. 31, 1938 “CURB'’ REPORTER Mrs. John Ashley addressed the Tryon Kiwanis club and visiting guests on Tuesday noon at Hotel Tryon and told of the possibilities of bringing to Tryon this winter the famous Peterboro Players, schopl of drama of Peterboro, N. H. M!rs. Sterns, the head of the school has Been invited to come to Tryon and investigate the oppor tunities offered. The joint Rotary- Kiwanis committed headed by E. Perry MianvTle is making a pre liminary survey now to determine the approximate number of stu dents desiring courses in drama and also is scouting for locations. The committee believes that the school would be a good thing for Tryon and that the school officials and pupils would be benefitted by coming here The Prank Crandalls writing from Badgastein, Austria, say: “After weeks of strenuous travel Naples, Cairo, Alexandria, Haifa, Jerusalem, Ath ens, Rome, Italian Hill towns of Innsbruck it is pleasant to keep quiet in this beautiful spa in the Austrian Tyrol. The city is gay with red Nazzi banners. The peo ple gay in their Tyrolean costumes which are most colorful. The or chestra plays twice a day in the park below our hotel, and if the people have any cares they don’t show it. But the old U. S. A. will look good to us when we see it again.” .... Chester M.
