Vice-president Hoyt O. Prince of the Tryon Kiwanis club is making up his attendance at the Hendersonville club today. James H. Fay, Roosevelt sup ported candidate for congress in New York won the Democratic nomination over Congressman John O’Connor who was also running on the Republican ticket. He was nominated on that ticket. TRYON, N. C-, THURSDAY, SEPT. 22, 1938 Tryon Girl Scouts Organize for the Year The Tryon Girl Scouts met on Wednesday, September 21st, and elected officers for the year. Hope Scbilletter was elected treasurer and Anne Clark scribe. The patrol leaders are Evelyn Cromer, for the Stars of Tryon patrol; Doro thy Millikin for the Tiger patrol;; and Doris McClure for the Moun tain Laurel patrol. Evelyn Crom er will be assisted by Kell, Dorothy Millikin bv Margar et Sprague and Doris McClure by Kathleen Andrews. Members of the Tiger patrol are Dorothy Millikin, Hope Schil letter, Elizabeth Anne* Vining, Frances Helms, Marion Bridgeman and Margaret Sprague. Members of the Mountain Laurel are Doris MlcClure, Anne Clark, Evelyn Taylor-Tanner, Nancy Mor ton, Jean Derby and Kathleen Andrews. Members of the Stars of Tryon patrol are Evelyn Cromer, Jane Brand, Katherine Edwards, Caro line Speigle, Anne Brundage and Gelolo Iris Kell.
