The delicious orchard specimens come from the coves and ridges of Polk and Henderson counties, the latter county being one of the leading commercial growers of this type of fruit in North Carolina. The annual Henderson county ao ple crop is approximately 200,000 bushels. Although Polk doesn’t grow so many, her apples are just as fine. Arrangement of the apple dis play was made on Wednesday and judging was on Thursday morning. The show will continue through Saturday. Judges were G. D. White, Henderson county farm agent, and D. W. Bennett, assis tant Henderson county farm agent. Attracting much attention at the show is the 20-variety display of K. J. Davis, S'aluda orchardist.
