A. conference had returned from the annual Y conference held during the weekend at Camp Adger where Y. W. C. A. and Y. M. C. A. leaders from the various colleges of South Carolina met for three days around the campfire for lec tures and discussions. Miss Jack son is a senior at Converse col lege and is the daughter of M*r. and Mrs. Nelson Jackson, Jr., of Tryon and was the valedictorian of her class in the Tryon high school. DR. DAVIS TO ADDRESS P.-T. A. MEETING MONDAY The Tryon Parent-Teacher As sociation will meet Monday, Octo ber 17th, at 4:30 o’clock at the i&chool auditorium. Dr. E. Gibson Davis, pastor of the First Baptist church of Spar tanburg and former pastor of the First Baptist church of Asheville, will be the speaker. Dr. Davis will have for his subject: “Teaching Religion in the School.” The hostesses for the afternoon are Mrs. B. O. Byers, Mrs. Frank McFarland, Mrs. C. A. Martin and Mrs. Steth M. Vliriing.
