Ifrhe Phi Mu news of Queens- Chicora college reports the splen did leadership of its president, Alene Ward, of Tryon, and praised her work in putting forward the work of the Gamma Gamma chap ter at the National convention last year which she attended and sang two solos at the closing banquet. Among the new girls pledged to Gamma Gamma are Ruth McFar land of Tryon Converse college glee club is preparing for many programs under the direction of Glenn C. Stables. Rachel Jackson of Tryon is a member of the glee club which will render a program at the college auditorium on Sunday evening as part of the Kiwanis district convention . . . . TRYON, N. C., TUESDAY, OCT. 18, 1938 Correction ! R. L. Riddle, engineer in charge 'of the new Pacolet bridge, corrects yesterday’s story in the Bulletin concerning the auto wreck near Vaughn’s Creek bridge. Mt. Riddle states that the owner of the wreck ed car is not in any way connected with the State Highway’s bridge crew now completing this project. The Bulletin is sorry for the mis take and is glad to make correc tion. Hendersonville Kiwanians Put On Good Program The Hendersonville Kiwanis club came to Tryon today noon and held a joint meeting with the local club. Secretar v F. A. Barber of the Hen dersonville club made the principal address and told of the value and service of Kiwanis to the individu al and to the community. The musical part of the program was rendered by Miss Marion Maxwell, Fassifern student, at the piano, whistling solo by Mts. Fred Sud death, and vocal solos by Mrs. Chas. Morrow and Miss Mary Brooks. The program was in charge of Fred Waters of Hender sonville and Carroll Rogers of Tryon. The Tryon club voted to go to Spartanburg next Tuesday and meet with the district conven tion delegates and hear Interna tional Secretary Fred C. W. Par ker.
