Est. 1-31-28 MOTION PICTURES OF CHAPE HILL JUBILEE AT PARISH HOUSE - The public is invited to see free jnotion pictures of the “Carolina Jubilee at Chanel Hill” tonight at 7:30 at the Boy Scout Court of Honor at the Parish House. Stout Executive R. M*. Schiele who was director of public relations during the Jubilee made these interest ing nictures which show much of the Scout activities at the Univer sity of North Carolina. TO ADDRESS INTER-CLUB GARDEN CLUB COUNCIL Mrs. Clarence Owens of Colum* bia, S. C'., will address the Inter r Carden club council on Tuesday from 3 to 5 p. m., at the Cleveland Hotel in Spartanburg. She will lecture on Christmas decorations, emphasizing the saving of the slowly growing evergreens in cooperation with the conservation program. Admission 25c. TRYON, N. C., MONDAY, NOV. 21, 1938 Willie B. Sane Willie B. Sane, a young man of the Landrum section, who was arrested on Saturday night by Tryon police on a charge of drunk enness and lodged in the local jail, committed suicide about 5 o’clock Sunday morning by hanging him i self with his belt which he fast ened to the top of the cell. The body was first discovered about 7 o’clock. Coroner W. A. Bridges held an inquest soon afterwards and the body was taken to Land rum where funeral services will | be conducted this afternoon at 3 i o’clock at the First Baptist church with Dr. E. E. Bomar and the Rev. C. B. Prince officiating. Interment in Landrum cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Frank Dodd, B. B. Dempsey, Furman Bishop, Tennyson Ballew, Frank Carruth and Willie Watson. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Bertha Mantooth Sane; a son, Bobby Sane; his father, Bert Sane; three brothers, Jesse S&ne, and Leroy Sane, both of Landrum; and Hardie Sane of Hickory, N. C., and one sister, Mrs. Riley Jackson of Landrum, S. C. BREAKS LEG Leroy Williams, former Tryon merchant, fell Sunday afternoon and broke his leg.
