Christmas Bazaar
And Tea Wednesday
Plans for this year’s Christmas
Bazaar and Tea of St. Agnes
Guild, which is to be held Wed
nesday afternoon, December 7,
from 3 to 6 o’clock, in the Parish
are practically complete.
J The ladies of the Guild have sur
: passed their most ardent expecta
tions in providing attractive fea
tures for their guests, and have
added several features not hereto
fore publicly announced.
For example, there is to be a
palmistry booth, to be conducted
hy Mrs. Daniel Boone, 3rd, where
all doubts as to what the future
may hold for you may be satis
factorily solved:
And the children of Tryon, for
whom there will be several fea
tures, particularly a Donald Duck
grab bag, are to receive a special
dispensation—that is to say, any
of them, up to 12 years of age,
will be admitted for the very mod
est sum of 15 cents.
Above 12 years, the admission
charge is only 25 cents, a mere
compared with the enjoy-
Vknent that is guaranteed to every
feiest.
The scenic setting for this
elaborate effort by the ladies of
St. Agnes Guild, has been devised
by Mrs. Harkness Smith. It is
the general belief—one might say,
the unanimous belief—that the
center of attraction, at least for
a time, will be the tea table, pre
sided over by Mrs. Julian C. Cal
houn. The general arrangements
for the Tea have been made by
Mrs. F. P. Bacon. Mrs. George

Adams - Millis Defeated
Inman Saturday
The Adams - Miillis basketball
team defeated Inman Mills at the
Tryon school gymnasium by a score
of 31-25 on Saturday night in the
opening game of the local basket
ball season. Adams-Millis will
play another game on Wednesday
night at 8 o’clock at the Tryon
gymnasium. Saturday’s game
showed that both teams can put the
ball in the basket and the A.-M.’s
margin of 6 points can easily be
wiped out if the local men let up
the least bit. The Adams-Millis
team is composed of Alfred Buch
anan, Joe Ritchey, Keith Arledge,
William Hines, Harold Culler, Jack
Walker, Joe Heiser, A. M. Holbert,
Boyd Lawter, Otho Swain.
