I feel so sorry for the little
Dog across the way,
Who feels she must “express’
herself
Throughout the livelong day.
A really happy little dog
Would not “row” all day long;
For, unike a canary, HER “ex
pression” is not
HER expression is NOT song!
If my canary harked and snarled
At every passerby,
I’d be unhappy, surely, till
I’d found the reason why.
Especially as the “Black Tongue”
takes
Within its cruel clutch
The dogs who keep their jaws
agape,
Because they bark so much!
