I Vining, vice-president of Polk | County Troop No. 1, of Tryon, W. IA. Schilletter, Scoutmaster, was j one of six troops in the Council to i receive an award as a Standard I Troop for having met the neces | sary requirements established a j year ago. There are 149 Scout I troops in the Council. Fire Destroys Residence In loka Hills Section Fire of undetermined origin, completely destroyed the house in loka Hills belonging to P. S. Cecil of Spartanburg about 5 a. m., this morning. The structure, unoccu pied at the time of the fire, was formerly occupied by G. Isham Henderson of Tryon. It was lo cated about one-half mile out from Lynn on the Columbus highway.
