Howes Saved At Sea Reports are just coming in that .four North Carolina dentists and y fishing guide were rescued as clung to the sides of an over turned fishing cruiser off the coast of Florida. The five men were rescued when a party aboard the yacht, Maybick, New York restau rant official, sighted them bobbing in the water. They were given artificial respiration and taken to Craig in the Florida keys. They were reported later to have suf fered only from the effects of ex posure. The rescue took place on Wednesday but the news was de layed in reaching Miami. The men were Dr. R. R. Howes of For est City, C. B. You’:# and David Abernathy of Hickory, C. B. Mott of Morganton and Capt. Laverne Sweeting, the guide. Tryon High And Saluda Double-Header W In two games played at the Sa luda gym lasft night, Tryon girls won over Saluda girls by a 9 to 7 score. The Tryon boys lost out by one point, 21 to 20. The girls’ game was a low scor ing contest all the way, with the “half ending 4 to 4. In the last quarter, the Tryon girls picked up and barely held their lead as the game ended. The Tryon boys turned in a loose and regged game during the en tire first half and were unable to make any headway agaifist the good guarding of Saluda.
