Tom Costa for O Adams-Millis made the highest score of 517 points for an average —of 172 1-3 points for three games. Other scores are as follows: For Adams-Millis, George Ferree. 450; Ben White, 369; Craig Furr, Jr., 377; George Comer, 416. Clod hoppers—Dudley Smith, 349; Sam McClure, 399; Jim Culbreath, 395; Dr. Derby, 445; Dr. Preston, 391. The Adams-Millis challenges all comers.—Larry Brooks, Sports Editor. Communications The doctors and nurses of St. Luke’s hospital entertained on Tuesday evening at a beautiful dinner party in honor of the trus tees and their wives. Hosts and guests, numbering thirty-four in all, gathered at the Gertrude Har €din Holbrook Memorial Nurses’ (Home, where the friendly greet ings, the cheerful, bright spring flowers and mellow candle-light created a warm, welcoming atmos phere conducive to a delightful evening. Gne guest looked around and said, “No wonder our hospital is considered the best run place in the country—just look at the capable people who give so much of their time to it!” The whole affair was one of understanding, friendliness and mutual apprecia tion. Summey, who sums up your state income tax troubles will be at the Town of Try on office on Friday, March 10th, for the pur pose of assisting anyone making out North Carolina Income and Intangible Personal Property tax reports. The reports must be sent in by March 15th to avoil penalty. Lenten Reading A table in the Holden Reading Room of the Lanier library has been filled with books appropriate for Lenten Reading. These books may be read at the library on opening days, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays; or may be drawn out for a short period if desired. It is hoped that many will take advantage of this opportunity which is open to the public. L. G. Southard Speaker At Rotary Friday Lawrence G. Southard, promi nent Spartanburg attorney and authority on the United States Constitution, will address the Try on Rotary club on Friday at 1 p. m., at SPnnydale Log Cabin. Mr., Southard is the author of an inter esting book on President Andrew Johnson. He is expected to touch on some phases of New Deal legis lation. The program will be in charge of Attorney M. R. McCown.
