On Tuesday The regular meeting of the Wo ®Mhnen’s Missionary societv of the Baptist church will be held on Tuesday afternoon, April 4th, at 3:30 at the church with Mirs. W. Y. Wilkins. Mirs. M'. L. Nash will have charge of the program. A feature of the meeting will be a report of the State W. M. U. Convention held recently at Win ston-Salem, given by Mrs. B. G. Henry. Easter Seals Now On Sale The North Carolina League for Crippled Children, organized for the relief of all crippled children have on sale at the Blue Ridge Weavers in Tryon some attractive Easter Seals, the proceeds from which will be used to assist in every wav possible crippled chil dren. While the program is a one it reminds the that it costs less to correct a crippled limb in childhood than to support a crippled adult. Slack’s Pharmacy Sold to Owen Dr. Fred R. Owen of Landrum, S. C., who has been with Slack’s Pharmacy since January Ist, has purchased the drug store and the name has been changed to Owen’s Pharmacy. Dr. Owen is a gradu ate of the Southern College of Pharmacy, and has been in the drug business the past ten years. He is a son of Mir. and” Mirs. B. F. Large Crowd* Attends Converse Recital ! . < TT Approximately 200 Tryon people went to Spartanburg on Thursday evening to attend thq Senior Piano Recital of Mi«fe Rachel Jackson at Converse collegfe auditorium. Also in her graduation organ recital was Miss Sarah Mho re. The de lightful program was divided be tween the two candidates for graduation and the final number was very enjoyable with the piano and organ together. ! Buys Overlook Lot Miss Elizabeth H. Webster, and Miss Ellen Holt of Chicago have purchased propertv in Gillette Woods in the Overlook section and plan to start building a house on it next month. Sale made through W. M. Hester.
