C. “Lumâ€~ Con stance, was destroyed by fire today about 12 noon. The house and furnishings valued at about $3,500 was a complete loss. The cause of the fire was determined to have been caused by a defective flue. The fire from the house caused a forest fire in the nearby woods, and was somewhat threatening to other property. The Constance home is located near John A. Arledge’s home in Columbus. BOWLING SCHEDULE The Puddle Jumpers will meet the Bushwhackers tonight in a ten pin battle. The schedule for the remainder of the week is as follows: Wednes day night, open; Thursday, the Adams-Mallis team vs. A1 Martin s «ang; Friday, open; Saturday, Homily night. 4 BALL 4 SOME E. C. Rowe states that those playing in the four ball foursome scheduled for tomorrow (Wednes day) may play either in the morn ing or in the afternoon as they like. N C., TUESDAY, APRIL 4, 1939 Tax Listers Named County Tax Supervisor William Egerton, announces the appoint ment of the following tax listers for the various townships in the county as follows: Tryon Town ship, Jesse Rhodes; Saluda, Roy E. Ward; Columbus, F. M. Bur gess; Green Creek, W. B. Feagan, Sr.; White Oak, Mrs. Celia Dal ton; Cooper’s Gap, George Taylor. Supervisor Egerton says, “The most confusion in tax matters is the direct result of failure to get the property listed properly. You will be doing the county and your self a favor if you will contact your lister and know that your listing is correct. Especially is this true if you have BOUGHT or SOLD property since last listing time. A special appeal is made to all farmers to make an accurate crop report. Today, farmers of North Carolina are receiving bene fits from good crop reports of the past.â€~ WHEEL CHAIR WANTED Some one borrowed the Kiwanis wheel chair and failed to return it. It will be appreciated if any one knowing the whereabouts of this chair will communicate with C. J. Lynch or the Bulletin office. PERMANENT PRIZE Miss Peggy Lou Wood was the winner of the permanent wave offered recently by the Ponce De Leon Beauty Salon.
