Mixed Foursome
Results
The Four Ball Mixed Foursome
tournament held at the Tryon
Country club on Wednesday was a
very successful affair with 18
players entering the event. First
place went to Mrs. Jefferson Coe
of Worcester, Mass., and James
Rowe of. Princeton universtiy.
Their gross score was 100; less
23 handicap; net 77. Second place
went to Mr. and Mrs. John K.
Howell of Cleveland, Ohio, whose
gross score was 106; less 28 han
dicap; net 78.
No Dance Friday
On account of the Good Friday
services at the various churehes
the management at Sunnydale has
cancelled its scheduled dance for
Friday night.
WORSHIP SERVICES AT
METHODIST FRIDAY
A service of worship will be held
at the Methodist church Friday
night at 8 o’clock. Sermon sub
ject: “The Last Words of Christ.”
The public is cordially invited to
attend the services.
GOOD FRIDAY SERVICES
A Good Friday Service will be
held in Erskine Memorial Congre
gational tomorrow (Friday) night
at 7:46 o’clock. The pastor, Dr.
C. Arthur Lincoln, will speak on
the theme, “The Light of the Cross”
The vested choir will sing “Geth
semane” by Richard Redhead.

riding clothes and accessories. In
a recent letter to the chairman
of the publicity committee, Mr.
Keith writes, “We want to assure
you that it is a pleasure to co
operate with the citizens of your
town in putting on such a fine
show and to assure you at all times
| of our interest in the welfare of
1 Tryon. We will also call atten
j tion to the Horse and Hound show
j in our store’s advertising.”
McGrath At Rotary
James M. Baker will be in charge
of the Rtoary club on Friday at
1 p. m., at Sunnydale Log Cabin.
The guest speaker will be Thomas
W. McGrath, the well-known pho
tographer who has had interesting
experiences photographing promi
nent people and important events
all over the country. Mr. Mc-
Grath has made many beautiful
pictures of local riding activities.
