Won’t Happen Again This Century According to Prof. Lewis Bur chard and the World Almanac to day is the first time s ; nce 1882 that Good Friday has fallen on the exact day that Christ was crucified, and Sunday, Aprl 9th, will be the only Easter Sunday during the 20th century that will | come on the same day of Christ’s f resurrection. Historical statistics ' show that Christ died on April 7th and rose again on Apr : l 9th. The Council of Christian churches in 825 A.D. decided that Easter shall be on the first Sunday following the Paschal Full Moon and the date may vary between March 22 and April 25. The principal reason for this was that the pilgrims needed moonlight to travel pn their way to the great yearly festivi ties. Edwards, 91, Dies At Landrum Landrum, April 6. —T. D. Ed wards, 91, familiarly known as Uncle Tom, who had resided in this community about 80 years, died today at 4 p. m., a t his home near Landrum after an illness of 10 days. Mr. Edwards, a native of New York, had resided in Geoi’gia be fore moving to Landrum in his youth. He was a farmer and was one of the founders and a charter member of the Wesleyan Methodist church at Landrum. He was the son of the late William T. and Mrs. Mary Blalock Edwards. Mr. Edwards was married twice, his first wife having been the for mer Miss Eliza Ballard and his second wife the former Mrs. Hattie Ross. The funeral will be conducted Saturday at 3 p. m., at the Campo bello Methodist church, with the Rev. R. G. Cudd, the Rev. W. L, Miller, the Rev. C. B. Prince and the Rev. Waldo Lever officiating. Burial will be in the Campobello Methodist church cemetery.—Spar tanburg Herald.
