Won’t Happen Again
This Century
According to Prof. Lewis Bur
chard and the World Almanac to
day is the first time s ; nce 1882
that Good Friday has fallen on
the exact day that Christ was
crucified, and Sunday, Aprl 9th,
will be the only Easter Sunday
during the 20th century that will
| come on the same day of Christ’s
f resurrection. Historical statistics
' show that Christ died on April 7th
and rose again on Apr : l 9th. The
Council of Christian churches in
825 A.D. decided that Easter shall
be on the first Sunday following
the Paschal Full Moon and the date
may vary between March 22 and
April 25. The principal reason
for this was that the pilgrims
needed moonlight to travel pn their
way to the great yearly festivi
ties.
