Election Tuesday
For Town, School
The Municipal election for the
"town of Tryon and Special Char
ter District school will be held on
Tuesday at the Town Hall on
Maple street from 7 a. m., to 7 p.
m. The Election Officials are
Rufus Durham, registrar; Judges,
W. W. Creasman and Eb Fisher.
They will meet this afternoon at
4 o’clock to try any challenges,
remove names from the book of
people who have moved away per
manently or have died since last
electron.
The tickets to be voted on Tues*-
day will be for mayor, E. E. Mis
sildine; for town commissioner,
(vote for three), F.. P. Bacon, R.
O. Andrews, Ben White, W. Y.
Wilkins. For cemetery commission
(vote for three), R. H. Brady, Miss
Anne Nash, Seth M. Vining. For
Aaaffie school board, (vote for three)

Rev. B. G.Henry Wins
Directors’ Trophy
The Tryon Country club’s Direc
tors’ Trophy offered as the feature
prise in the golf tournament held
on the local links during the week
end was won by Rev. B. G. Henry
according to an announcement by
Pro Larry Brooks. The gross score
was 92, handicap 26, pet 66. Sec
ond place went to Julian Calhoun
with a gross of 85, handicap 15,
net 70; and third place was taken
by Bob Adams with a score of
90-17-73. The beautiful trophy
has been on display at the Bel
lenger Co., for the past several
days. Mr. Henry’s name will be
engraved on it and if he wins it
three times it will become his
permanent possession. Until then
it will be offered twice a year for
competition.
South Carolinians
Play Golf Here
Nearly 20 men from the Green
ville (S. C.) area came to Tryon
during the weekend and played golf
at the Tryon Country club. Those
from Greer were M.. Switzer, Bill
Dobson, Bud McGowan, Buster
Hendrix, Carroll Roe, Elmer Bar
nett, Sidney Sloan, Tom Patrick
and Kirk Nabors. From Taylors
were S. S. Fayson, W. E. Eskew,
R. F. Stribling, Curran Bridges,
R. Holbrook, R. A. Gray, G. M.
Moore. Also A. Harris of Pine
Crest Inn, Alfred Williams of
Asheville, Bill Miitchell of Green
ville, Mrs. M. R. White of Detroit,
G. C. Furr and A. Smith of High
Point.
