Adams-Millis Defeats Beaumont Team The Tryon Adams-Millis base ball team went on a hitting spree Saturday afternoon at Harmon Field to overtake the strong Beau mont team of South Carolina. The game seemed lost for the locals from the start. In the first inning it was 2-1 in favor of the visitors; in the second inning it was 6-1. A little gain was made in the third when it stood 7-4; another gain in the fifth made it 8-6. Each time Adams-Mlillis made two runs the visitors made one. The locals gained steadily but the big 6-1 lead of *Beaumont in the second was hard to overcome. At the end of the first half of the ninth the South Carolina team was lead ing 10-8, then Adams-Millis put on the pressure with three runs to capture the game 11-10. A feature of the evening was two home runs made by Holbert for the locals. Culler had a perfect day at bat. Store—Adams-Millis: ab. r. h. e.
