Plans A State Exhibit It/ Examples of youth work and craft performed in North Caro lina will be on display at the N. C. Youth Craft Exhibit and Con ference to be held in Raleigh Me morial Auditorium, Friday and Saturday, May 19 and 20, accord ing to C. F. Felts, NYA super visor for Folk county. The Conference, sponsored by the N. C. Council of Youth Serv ing Agencies, will combine an ex tensive exhibit of handicraft achievements by youth of North Carolina with an open forum dis cussion program dealing with im mediate problems facing young people of today. John A. Lang, State NYA Di rector, who is also president of the Council of Youth-Serving Agencies reported to Mr. Felts that present indicate this conference will J? highly successful in its efforts *Ko give expression to the works and thoughts of Young Tar Heels. A number of outstanding speak ers from North Carolina and other states have accepted invitations to participate in the discussion for ums which are to be conducted all day Saturday, May 20th. The exhibit of youth crafts, arts and works will be opened to the public beginning at 1 o’clock Fri day afternoon and will be on dis play all through the following day. Among organizations which will participate in the Conference are the 4-H clubs, the Future Farm ers of America, the Civilian Con servation Corps, the National Continued on Page Five Tryon High School Finals Are Slated The closing date for the 1938- 39 school session is fast approach ing. The school will complete a most successful year on May 31st. The Senior class consists of 26 members—l 9 girls and 7 boys. Miss Peggy Lincoln has made the highest scholastical standing for a period of four years in the high school and has won the honor of being valedictorian of the class. Miss Margaret Pace has second highest standing and has won the honor of being the salutatorian. On Friday night, M!ay sth, the school -band gave a concert in the school auditorium.
