Paralysis Caution !
Definite steps to prevent the
spread of infantile paralysis to
|l Spartanburg were taken last night
fat the regular meeting of the city
board of health.
Board officials, in releasing a
six-point program drawn up at
last night’s session, emphasized
the fact that no cases of the
disease, which has spread in epi
demic form in the lower part of
the state, have been reported with
in 65 miles of Spartanburg.
However, officials stated, “we
feel that every known precaution
should be taken to try to prevent
its occurence in our city . . . and
the board promises to do all in
its power. ... to keep it from
our midst.—Spartanburg Herald.
New School
Hendersonville, June B.—Plans

| North Carolina units of the Flori
w da Science Preparatory school for
boys were announced here Thurs
day.
Fall and spring terms of the
institution, which has headquar
ters in Miami, will be held in the
future at Camp Carlyle, near
Hendersonville.
The school is owned by Miss
Jjilia Fillmore Harris, owner of
the Mss Harris’ Florida School
for girls, of M!iami, which last
year established spring and fall
units in Henderson county. Al
though the two institutions are
separate in operation, the fall and
spring terms of both will be held
at Camp Carlyle.-—Asheville Citi

Night Swimming
At Lake Lanier
Manager E. A. Emmermann of
Lake Lanier Inn states that the
Inn dock will be illuminated with
flood lights on Sunday evening
until about 10 o’clock in order
to accommodate any who prefer
to go in swimming at night. If
the venture proves popular it will
be repeated.
News Pictures Tonight
Manager Chas. Nessmith has
just received a telegram from
RKO, New York, stating that the
latest news film just completed in
New York on Thursday are com
ing to Tryon by airplane as far as
Spartanburg. The reel is expected
to have the scenes of the arrival
of the King and Queen in the
United States and other last
minute events. The news film will
be shown all during the weekend.
$75 Needed
C. J. Lynch and_ George A.
Cathey were out this morning
soliciting funds for the Fourth
of July Celebration to be held
at Harmon Field. Approximately
$75 more was needed when this
was written. The more money
raised the better the program of
firworks display. The entire pro
gram will consist of a full holiday
for all who wish to enjoy an out
ing at Harmon Fied. Ample room
for groups of children to play and
table space under shade trees for
