C., June 16.—Center Fielder Henderson poled out four hits in four trips here today to pace Mayfair to a 10-6 Eastern Carolina league win over Adams- Millis. To Close Or Wot To Close That’s The Question The merchants of Tryon held a conference on Friday afternoon to discuss the question of closing their stores on Thursday afternoons during the summer in order to give clerks and proprietors a half day vacation each week. The business men were unable to reach a unanimous decision. A major ity finally decided to give each em ployee an afternoon off each week but not to all of them on the same ,3 day. That would enable stores to keep open as usual for the benefit of the public. BOYS’ CLUB BEGINS ON MONDAY Major W. A. Schilletter states that plans are complete for the opening of the fourth annual Boys’ club on Monday morning at 9:30. All boys between the ages of 9 and 16 are invited to join. Visit ing boys are also invited. There will be six weeks of fun, -recrea tion and study leading toward the development of better minds, bodies and spirits. The counselors will be Henry McGeachy, Harold Taylor, Jack Mielton, Lock Mc- Geachy. At The Churches (Visitors Are Welcome at AU Churches). FIRST BAPTIST: Rev. B. G. Henry, Minister.
